Arunachal Pradesh, the eastern most province of India, the first to be touched by the rays of sun, is one of the most beautiful regions in the world. Its isolation has protected its natural beauty, Buddhist heritage, tribal culture, crafts and tradition and its splendid wildlife. The vast canopy of rainforest with its plethora of flora and fauna, makes it one of the world’s seventeen bio-diversity heritage sites. It offers the tourist numerous opportunities for rafting, hiking and mountaineering. Arunachal Pradesh finds mention in ancient literature such as the Kalika Purana and the epics Mahabharata and Ramayana. There are 26 major indigenous tribes in Arunachal Pradesh. Some of them are Nyishi, Monpa, Sherdukpen, Wanchoo, Apatani, Tagin, Miri, Adi, Akas, Mijis etc.
In in tour you will travel to the sacred land of the Monpas and visit the famous Tawang monastery in Arunachal Pradesh. On the way drive through Sela Pass, the highest pass in this region and boasting of some breathtaking landscape. On the way stopover and sightseeing at Dirang valley and Bomdila. You will also visit the historic town of Tezpur in Assam and also spent some time at Nameri National Park.
Day 01 : Arrive Guwahati Airport. On arrival you will be met by our representative and transfer to the hotel. Guwahati is the major commercial city of Northeast India and a historic city too. Visit famous Kamahya temple, Assam state museum and evening enjoy a cruise in mighty river Brahmaputra (Optional, time permitting and based on availability). Overnight at the hotel.
Day 02 : Today after breakfast proceed to Bomdila (10 hours). Bomdila is the headquarters of the West Kameng district in Arunachal Pradesh. This lofty paradise is snow clad for a major part of the year and makes a delightful destination to get away to in summer. On arrival, check-in at the hotel. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 03 : Morning after breakfast, proceed to Tawang (180 km/8 hrs) at an elevation of about 10000 ft. On the way cross 'Sela Pass', 13700 ft, the highest motorable road in North East India. Thereafter visit Jaswant Garh named after the legendary soldier of Indian Army, Jaswant Singh Rawat, who single handedly stopped the Chinese army for more than 72 hours in that area. On arrival check in at the hotel. Evening walk around local market. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 04 : Full day to explore Tawang. Visit the world famous Tawang Monastery. The Tawang Monastery was founded by Merak Lama Lodre Gyamtso in the year 1860-61 AD. It offers an imposing and picturesque view of the -Chu valley. The monastery appears like a fort from a distance, as if guarding the admirers in the wide valley below. It is the largest of its kind in the country and 2nd largest in Asia and has the capacity for housing about 700 monks. Thereafter visit the Buddha Statue. Visit the Urgelling Monastary which is also associated with the birth of the 6th Dalai Lama. One of the oldest Ani Gonpa located 12km from Tawang, commissioned by Karchen Yeshi Gelek in 1595 AD. Afternoon visit the war memorial and enjoy the sound and light show. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 05 : After breakfast day excursion to Bum La Pass which is located about 37 km away from Tawang at the Indo-China border above 15,200 ft. There after proceed to Sangestar Tso lake (lake is called Tso in Tibetan) that featured Madhuri Dixit in the movie Koyla, as a result this lake is also called Madhuri lake. Drive back to Tawang. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 06 : Morning after breakfast drive to Dirang in Arunachal Pradesh (250 km/7 hrs). On the way also visit Nuranag waterfall. On arrival check in at the hotel. Afternoon visit the Buddhist monastery here. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 07 : Today proceed to Eco Camp (07 hours) at Nameri National Park. On the way, visit the Orchid Park at Tipi. On arrival check into the camp. Afternoon, walk on the banks of river Jia Bhorelli that flows near the camp. The Eco camp has comfortable double bedded tents with a thatched roof canopy. Come back to the camp at dusk. Overnight at the eco camp.
Day 08 : This morning drive to Guwahati airport (240 km / 6 hours) for your onward journey.
