​​​Assam State Zoo:

Established in 1957 the Assam State Zoo is located in the Hengrabari Reserve Forest inside the city. The zoo occupies an area of 175 hectares which includes the botanical garden spread across an area of 82 hectares. The zoo comprises of total 112 species of varied flora and fauna species. Flora includes many orchid varieties and fauna includes the Great one horned Rhino, Bengal tiger, White Tiger, Asiatique Lion, Hippopotamus, Himalayan black bear, Hoolock Gibbons among many other exotic animals.

​​Assam State Museum:

Established in 1940, this museum is a rich repository of ancient sculptures (stone, wood, metal and terracotta) which includes some exquisite erotic sculptures, Tribal crafts, Folk art, Natural History, History of Northeast India, World War II etc. It also has a display of ancient manuscripts including some documents written on bark of old trees which are well preserved.

Brahmaputra River Cruise: 
​​Brahmaputra river is the life source of Northeast India. It is denoted as a male river due to it's sheer size and vastness. A cruise on the river during sunset is the best way to enjoy its beauty and appreciate one of the biggest rivers in the world. 

Kamakhya Temple: 
​​Kamakhya devi temple is situated on the Nilachal parvat in Guwahati. It is one of the 51 Shakti Pithas of India and an important pilgrimage destination especially for Tantric worshippers. Millions of people from all over the subcontinent visit this temple every year during Ambubachi Mela held during the onset of Monsoon in June.

​Umananda Island Temple :

Umananda island on river Brahmaputra is one of the smallest inhabited river islands in the world. It is named after Umananda temple dedicated to Shiva and his consort Uma. One can reach Umananda by ferry service from Guwahati.

Srimanta Shankardeva Kalakshetra : 
It is the largest repository of Northeast India’s culture. Built in the 1990s, the artistic excellence of Assam and rest of the north-eastern region is displayed here. It includes a cultural museum, library and various facilities for preserving, demonstrating and performing cultural items, besides a children's park. There are eateries, places of worship, emporiums and open-air theatres within the sprawling Kalakshetra premises. 

Mahabahu Brahmaputra River Heritage Center : It is dedicated to the spirit and legacy of the majestic River Brahmaputra and the city of Guwahati. The campus has tree lined walkways, with an Art Garden, a 170 years old Heritage Bungalow, an open air Amphitheatre along with a modern glass façade building functioning as a Café, and the Riverside Garden with art installations, specially designed activity spaces and viewing decks overlooking the river.
