Day 01      Arrive Guwahati : Pick up from Guwahati Airport / Railway station


Day 02    Guwahati : After breakfast full day sightseeing of Guwahati city. Visit the Kamakhya Temple, Assam State museum, Umananda temple etc. Kamakhya devi temple is situated on the Nilachal parvat. It is one of the 51 Shakti Pithas of India and an important pilgrimage destination. The Assam State museum, established in 1940 is a rich repository of ancient sculptures (stone, wood, metal and terracotta) which includes some exquisite erotic sculptures, Tribal crafts, Folk art, Natural History, History of Northeast India, World War II etc. Evening go for a dinner cruise with cultural program (optional) on the river Brahmaputra or visit the Srimanta Shankardev Kalakshetra. Overnight in Guwahati.


Day 03    Guwahati  - Cherrapunjee : Early morning drive to Cherrapunjee ( km/ 5 hours). Enroute see the Umiam lake and Elephant falls. Elephant Falls was the British name of what the local Khasi people once referred to as Ka Kshaid Lai Pateng Khohsiew (or "Three Steps Waterfalls") since the falls actually consists of three sections in succession. The British renamed the falls because there used to be a rock resembling an elephant near the left side of the main falls. However, that rock was destroyed in an earthquake in 1897. Proceed to the Mawphlang sacred grove. The people of Meghalaya believe that the spirits of their ancestors live in the forests and so certain forests are considered sacred. In these forests they do not cut trees or pluck any fruits or flowers. If necessary then they offer prayers and seek permission when they need something from the forest. One can trek through this beautiful forest. Thereafter drive on to see the wonderful views of the Laitlum Canyon.On arrival in Cherrapunji, check-in at the hotel. Relax in the serene atmosphere of Cherrapunjee. Overnight in Chherrapunjee.

​​​​Day 04    Cherrapunji : Cherrapunji or Sohra is world renowned for being once the rainiest place on earth. It has many beautiful waterfalls and caves. Visit the Nohsngithiang Falls, Mawsmai caves/Arwah caves and Nohkailikai Falls. Also see the valley of Bangladesh below. Overnight at the hotel.


Day 05    Cherrapunji - Mawlynnong - Dawki - Jowai : Drive to Mawlynnong(3 hrs), one of the cleanest villages in Asia. This village borders Bangladesh and you can have a great view of the plains of Bangladesh from here. Trek to the living Root Bridge which is a wonderful example of an ecofriendly way of existing without disturbing nature. Thereafter drive to Dawki (1 hour). Dawki is a border town on the Indian side of the Indo – Bangladesh border. Just near the Tamabil-Dawki check post flows the beautiful Dawki river or Umngot river with greenish-bluish water so clear that one can see the bottom of the river even from as high as the bridge over the river. Enjoy activities in Dawki like boating, canoeing(optional). Later drive to Krang Shuri Water falls in Jowai (1 hour). Overnight at the hotel in Jowai.


Day 06    Jowai - Shillong : This morning visit the Tyrshi waterfall and then drive to Shillong (2 hours). On arrival check in at the hotel.  Afternoon visit the market. Overnight in Shillong. 


Day 07   Shillong : Sightseeing of Shillong visiting the Shillong Cathedral, Wards Lake (Tuesday closed) known locally as Nan-Polok. It is an artificial lake with garden and boating facilities. After that see the Don Bosco Museum (Sunday closed). This modern museum focuses on local indigenous people & culture.​​

Day 08    Shillong  - Kaziranga : Drive from Shillong to Kaziranga National Park. Overnight in Kaziranga


​Day 09    Kaziranga : Get up very early in the morning for an exciting elephant ride (direct payment basis). Enjoy the ride through the Park for 1 hr. and see the famous one horned rhino, wild elephants etc. up close. After breakfast visit a nearby village to see the lifestyle and culture of the local people. Afternoon go on a Jeep safari inside the Central range of the park. This drive is an ideal introduction to the park and its ecology as the route passes through the entire spectrum of habitat types prevalent in the area. There is a possibility of sighting elephants as well as the other Mega herbivores, Swamp deer etc. Dinner and overnight at the resort. 

Day 10   Kaziranga - Jorhat : Today morning after breakfast drive to a Tea estate in Jorhat. On arrival check in at the heritage Tea Bungalow. After that visit the tea garden and the tea factory and see how Assam tea is manufactured. Afternoon visit a Tai community village nearby. The Tai people had migrated to Assam from Northern Thailand in the 16th-17th century. They are Buddhists and still follow their old customs and traditions.


Day 11  Jorhat - Majuli - Jorhat : Today after breakfast, proceed to Neemati Ghat for your ferry ride to Majuli. A 02 hours downstream boat cruise will take you to Majuli nestled between Subansiri and Brahmaputra rivers famous for the Assamese Vaishnavite satras or monasteries, the Mishing tribals and also for the migratory birds that come here from different parts of the world.  Visit the famous satras (monastery) of Majuli. These monasteries where set up by Srimanta Shankerdev, the founder of the Vaishnavite revivalism in the 16th century. These monasteries nurture the traditional dance of ‘Satriya’, (which is a national dance of India), music, and crafts such as mask making besides religious teachings. Thereafter transfer to Kamalabari Ghat for your ferry ride (2 hrs) to Neemati Ghat then drive Back to Jorhat. Overnight at Tea estate. ​


Day 12    Jorhat - Sibsagar - Tinsukia : Today Drive from Jorhat to Tinsukia. Enroute visit the historic city of Sibsagar, the ancient capital town of the Ahom kingdom, who ruled Assam at a stretch of 600 years before the reign of British. See the ancient temples and monuments like Ranghar, Talatalghar and Siva Dol. Thereafter, proceed to Tinsukia (3 hrs)


Day 13    Tinsukia - Dibru Saikhowa - Dhola Sadiya bridge - Namsai : Thereafter drive to see the Dhola Sadiya bridge which is India's longest bridge (9 kms). After that drive on to Namsai (1.5 hrs approx). Visit the Golden Pagoda of Namsai. The Pagoda is perched beautifully on top of a hill on the banks of a river overlooking the Eastern Himalayan mountains. The temple has a beautiful jade Buddha and tallest Bamboo Buddha. On the way  See the Oil museum in Digboi. Thereafter proceed to Margherita and see the coal museum here. After that visit the Singpho tribal village in Ketatong. Enjoy a traditional lunch in a Singpho villa. Thereafter drive back to Dibrugarh. 


Day 14    Namsai - Digboi - Margherita - Dibrugarh : Visit the picturesque town of Digboi having Asia’s oldest Oil refinery. Digboi is a historic town. Crude oil was discovered here in late 19th century. Owing to the discovery the first oil well in Asia was drilled here in 1866 and the first refinery in Asia set up in 1901. Digboi also has the oldest oil well in operation. It is said that the town gets its name from the phrase "dig-boy-dig," which is what the British told the workers as they dug for crude oil. ​Visit the Digboi Centenary Oil museum to know about the interesting history of the oil industry in India and see the beautiful exhibits. Also visit the World War II cemetery.
